While our programs emphasize basic technologies and have a much greater emphasis
on management. All programs within the School of Information Technology:

School of ICT courses:
The Concentrations for the programs in IT are
designed to provide the students with an emphasis within the following major
functional areas of IT. The available concentrations are:
Business Systems Analysis - designed to provide specific theories,
competencies, and skills necessary for success as a business systems analyst.
This concentration will examine a number of methodologies and tools important to
the discipline.
Information Systems Security - focused on the concepts and principles of
securing and protecting the information assets of the organization. The
requirements for risk management and enterprise security are examined in this
concentration.
Multimedia & Visual Communication - This concentration focuses on the
application of effective technical communication and design principles in the
development of various digital media. The skill set obtained in this
concentration prepares graduates to facilitate internal and external
communications, information content management, and training and marketing
materials in any organizational setting.
Networks and Telecommunications - designed to provide specific theories,
competencies, and skills necessary for success as a network administrator. This
concentration is developed with a focus on the Networking + body of knowledge
including local area networks and wide area networks.
Software Engineering - designed to provide specific theories,
competencies, and skills necessary for success as a programming professional.
This concentration focuses on the principles of software application
development.
Web Development - designed to provide specific theories, competencies,
and skills necessary for success as a Web professional. The Web Development
concentration prepares students to design and develop websites for commercial
operation.
Information Technology Support - A concentration in Information
Technology Support offers coursework in the technologies and methods necessary
to provide technical support to information technology and computer system
users. Students will learn the customer support aspects of personal computer
desktop software applications, computer hardware and software including
diagnosis and solutions.
Database Administration - This concentration focuses on the installation,
development and administration of database applications in the business
environment. The administration and development of database applications is
examined from desktop databases to the enterprise level application of database
technology.
